But in winter they range gets wider to brackish marshes and coastal lagoons. They are wide spread across North America, Europe and Asia. They on probably one of the must numerous duck species in the world. They mostly feed on seeds and insects. But they eat plants, grasses , and seeds in the winter and fall.
Facts: The female pintail lays seven to nine cream coloured eggs at the rate of one per day. The maximum recorded age of them is 27 years. They are among the earliest nesting ducks in North America. They are called Canard Pilet in French and Pato Golondrino on Spanish.
Endangered: Not endangered
Human impact: The human impact is that we are polluting their waters. They try to aviod people at all cost.
